Democratizing knowledge in Africa
I am building
A knowledge network startup called Virtual Estate.
Our mission is to democratize knowledge for the African youth and working class by helping Africa’s best minds and operators build timeless digital libraries.
We believe that for Africa to be truly great, there must be a scaleable indexable network through which knowledge is passed down between generations across the internet.
We want to ensure that as our reliance on the internet increases, we have a network through which Africans can access, curate, and connect knowledge that speaks of the African context.
I am writing
A blog chain on how Africa’s best minds and operators can create their digital legacy.
Questions I am asking myself:
1. Who are Africa’s best minds and operators?
2. Where can you find their work, beliefs, and approaches?
3. Which media metaphors (mediums) are they using to inspire the next generation of youth?
4. How can we rebalance the media space by introducing knowledge media in the age of social media and A.I.?
5. Artificial Intelligence only recognizes the world through its training. How then can we ensure it recognizes Africa’s true knowledge capital?
